History of Computer:
The previous word of “Computer” is the word “Compute”. It means to calculate. So a computer is usually calculating device that can execute arithmetic operations at vast speed.
In fact, a computer can store material and that it can do much more complicated calculations a lot faster than calculators. Computer can perform complex and cyclical procedures quickly, exactly and reliably and can speedily store and retrieve huge amounts of data.
More accurately, a computer is defined as an electronic device that has the capability to accept data, store them execute a series of commands (Program), execute mathematical, logical operations on data given by the user and give information in the forms of an output. The output may be made obtainable either on the computer monitor or can be printed on a paper.
Thus, computer is an electronic programmable device. It receives input from the client, stores and manipulates information. It provide output in a useful drawing. It can execute both mathematical and logical operations on the data given by the user.
Note:
Data: - Data is a set of row unprocessed facts, figures and symbols. Computers process data to build information.
Information: - Information is data that is prearranged meaningful and useful. An example of information is a grade report which is generated from data objects such as students name, course name, and course grads.
Computer Used In our Daily Life:
· Computers make calculations easier and quicker.
· Computer can hold enormous amount of information.
· Computers are dependable and do calculations correctly.
· We can collect information from around the world using the internet.
· We can send a letter via email within a little seconds.
